Sam is an associate at Wiggam & Geer located in Atlanta, Georgia. She first joined the firm as a law clerk, and became an associate after earning her Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the Georgia State University College of Law. Prior to law school, Sam worked as an associate at a financial consulting firm that specialized in bankruptcy, receiverships, and reorganizations. Her work experience prompted her to concentrate her studies and legal work experience in tax law.
During law school, Sam worked as a student attorney in the Philip C. Cook Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic. She saved five clients $276,980 by settling their tax liabilities for $10, $10, $25, $25, and $791 through Offers in Compromise. She also completed an externship with the IRS, Office of Chief Counsel: Large Business & International Division in Atlanta. Additionally, she served as a student editor for the 2016 Southern Federal Tax Institute, where she checked citations for and edited articles presented at the conference.
Sam was selected as the representative from Georgia State University College of Law to receive the Clinical Legal Education Association (CLEA) Outstanding Student Award for her work in the Tax Clinic. She also received CALI excellence for the Future Awards granted for the highest grade earned in a law school class for both of her semesters in the Tax Clinic. She graduated with Pro Bono Distinction.
