Morgan is a tax associate at Wiggam & Geer in Atlanta, Georgia. She recently joined the firm after earning her Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Georgia State University College of Law. Prior to law school, Morgan worked as a newspaper and magazine editor for nearly ten years. In 2013, she left her position as copy chief with an Atlanta newspaper to enroll at GSU Law.
Early in law school, Morgan began looking into tax law. After learning about GSU’s Philip C. Cook Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic from clinic students, she decided to join the clinic. Working in the tax clinic over the next two years gave her the opportunity to apply what she was learning in the classroom to real situations. The ability to resolve controversies with the IRS for clients who otherwise wouldn’t have been able to afford legal assistance kept her inspired.
During her time at GSU Law, Morgan received many tax and public interest fellowship awards, including the highest awarded PILA Public Service Fellowship for her tax controversy work with New York’s Legal Aid Society, as well as the State Bar of Georgia’s Outstanding Tax Student Award. Morgan received three CALI Excellence for the Future Awards granted for the highest grade earned in a law course and graduated with Highest Pro Bono Distinction with more than 360 hours volunteered during law school.
